Les Escapades Gourmandes

Overview

When you step into Les Escapades Gourmandes located at Chem. de Rovéréaz 23, 1012 Lausanne, Switzerland, you’re immediately struck by the charming atmosphere and the friendly vibe that welcomes you in. The restaurant offers a delightful escape from the bustle of the city, serving up not only delicious dishes but an experience that’s sure to linger in your mind long after you’ve left.

The menu is a perfect reflection of the restaurant’s dedication to high-quality, fresh ingredients. Each dish is crafted with care, offering a taste of both traditional and contemporary flavors. Whether you're a fan of French-inspired classics or looking for something a little more adventurous, there’s something here for everyone. The chefs put a lot of thought into pairing ingredients that you wouldn’t always expect to work together, yet they do, creating exciting and memorable flavors.

During my visit, I tried the roasted duck breast with a side of honey-glazed vegetables. The duck was perfectly cooked, tender with a crispy skin, and the sweetness from the vegetables balanced the savory richness of the meat. It was a beautiful example of the restaurant’s ability to elevate even the simplest of dishes.

One of the standout aspects of dining at Les Escapades Gourmandes is its exceptional service. The staff are incredibly attentive, without being overbearing. They’re always ready to offer recommendations, explain the menu in detail, and ensure that your dining experience goes smoothly. It’s clear that they take pride in their work, and it shows in the personal touch they add to each guest's visit. Whether you’re visiting for a casual meal or a special occasion, you can always expect top-notch service.

The wine list is also worth mentioning. It features an impressive selection of local Swiss wines, as well as international options. The sommelier is more than happy to guide you in finding the perfect wine to pair with your meal. I paired my duck with a smooth Pinot Noir from the region, which complemented the dish wonderfully.

In terms of ambiance, Les Escapades Gourmandes strikes the right balance between being cozy and elegant. The decor is modern with a touch of rustic charm. The warm lighting and tasteful design elements make it a perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. Plus, the restaurant's location in Lausanne adds to the appeal, offering a serene environment that feels a world away from the city’s hectic pace.

If you’re planning a visit, I recommend making a reservation, as the place tends to fill up quickly, especially on weekends. It’s easy to see why it’s such a popular choice among locals and visitors alike. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick bite or a leisurely evening, Les Escapades Gourmandes offers a fantastic dining experience that won’t disappoint.

The restaurant also shines in its seasonal menu offerings. They are always updating their dishes based on what’s fresh and available, so you can be sure that each visit will offer something new. From mouthwatering appetizers to decadent desserts, every course is thoughtfully prepared, ensuring that each bite is as delightful as the last.

For those who are looking for something unique, the chef often creates special dishes that reflect the flavors of the season. During my last visit, I had the pleasure of trying a seasonal risotto made with wild mushrooms, which was rich and earthy. It was the perfect comfort food for the cooler months, showcasing the chef’s skill in balancing flavors.

Overall, Les Escapades Gourmandes is more than just a place to eat - it’s a destination for food lovers. The combination of superb food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a standout in Lausanne. Whether you're a local looking for a great spot for dinner or a visitor wanting to experience the best of Swiss dining, this restaurant is worth checking out.

A restaurant newly renovated with extremely friendly service. The dishes are of excellent quality. If you're looking for a dining experience similar to a fine dining restaurant but don't have the budget, I highly recommend this one!
